Will Apple Intelligence replace ChatGPT as my proofreader?

I’ve been a regular user of ChatGPT ever since I discovered its capabilities. I use it to proofread my writing in both English and Japanese. It helps me refine my grammar and even adjust the tone of my text. I employ it for various purposes, including creating blogs, crafting social media posts, and even engaging in chat conversations.

Admittedly, the tedious task of cutting and pasting between apps and ChatGPT was a major inconvenience. However, when I learned that Apple was releasing Apple Intelligence, I was thrilled to finally be able to proofread or rewrite my text wherever I could type it.

Today, Apple Intelligence was released, and I’m thrilled, especially when I’m writing in English. All I need to do is select the text, and buttons to either proofread or rewrite it will appear. Another button will also display additional options, such as altering the tone of the text, to make it more friendly, or more concise.

Japanese support, which I believe I’ll utilize more frequently, will be available sometime in 2025. Until then, I suppose I’ll have to continue cutting and pasting between apps and ChatGPT. Nevertheless, I’m pleased with these incremental enhancements.

I’m a fan of kaizen, after all.
