This will be me blogging about Minamisenju.
I’ve been living here for more than two years now and so far, it has been good. Having a reputation of home for day-laborers slash cheap accommodations for backpackers allowed Minamisenju to provide a location that is relatively cheap but is still close to the heart of the city.
Recent developments, particularly to the east of the railways offered a dramatic contrast between the old shitamachi west and the newly gentrified east. The east’s parks and wide open spaces offer a fresh respite from the hustle and bustle of the city while the west’s narrow roads and antiquated houses offer a peek into the old way of life of Tokyo.
Follow me and together, let’s discover the secrets of Minamisenju!
