It seems that Dell will be releasing computers with Ubuntu pre-installed. It’s about time! Notwithstanding my previous rant about Firefox and YouTube, I believe Ubuntu is ready for prime time. I really do.

My Sony laptop has been running Ubuntu for the past 4 months (!) already and I don’t feel like coming back to Windows anytime soon. I might get the weird stares at the office when I tell them I am running Linux at home but with this news from Dell, I believe this is about to change.

Other manufacturers will follow. Ubuntu will become a mainstream OS that will rival Windows and Mac OS. It’s forever free and it works. What more could you ask for?
