Just found somebody sharing Prince of Tennis (Tenipuri) OVA 18 and 19 on the internet. It’s on YouTube from this channel. Here’s a sample. Here’s the part where Ryoma battles it with Kintaro, Ryoma’s Kansai equivalent. Amazing point! It’s in Japanese without subtitles though. But for us tennis fans, it doesn’t matter.

Australian Open 2008 in Japan
It seems like the only way to watch the Australian Open in Japan is by subscribing to the WOWOW Channel. There’s also the Australian Open – The Official Youtube Channel although so far, I don’t see them posting lots of games. There aren’t that many subscribers either… 34 as of last count. Dang!
"Ace o Nerae!" on TV Asahi Channel
“Ace o Nerae!” (エースをねらえ!), that Japanese TV Drama every tennis player in Japan should watch, is now showing on TV Asahi Channel. I think it airs every Tuesday nights at 8:00 PM to around 8:50 PM. I missed the first time it was aired on TV so now, I’m a little excited.
Tennis Lookalikes
Here’s a very funny video I found in YouTube. A lot of them really are lookalikes. The creator did a very good job in selecting the pictures.
Tennis in Tokyo Map
I’ve started a Tennis in Tokyo map to feature all key tennis locations in Tokyo — at least from the way I personally see it. I plan to update this in the future as I find more locations.
Disappointment
I was hoping I’d get promoted from Intermediate class to Upper-Intermediate class but unfortunately, I’m not. Nobody in my class was.
Ending the Year Right
I won two of them! These are the trophies VIP TOP Tennis School give away to the winners at a small and friendly intra-class competition for the last lesson for the year. I got one from my regular Sunday class and another from a Saturday class I just happened to have attended when they had…
Tokyo Tennis – Introduction
I live in Tokyo. I love Tennis. This is my blog.
Oldie Tennis
Yesterday I attended a tennis class, where the participants were mostly old people in their retirement years. I guess this is the target market for noontime weekday classes. Even the coaches were older than usual. They would always refer to me as the young one… which in this particular situation makes sense even if I…
130 km/h serve
Today we had a radar gun to measure the speed of our serves. Mine clocked at 130 km/h, which would put me top 2 in my class of 14. In comparison, the fastest serves in the professional tour would measure 149 (Greg Rusedski and Andy Roddick) for the men’s tour and 129 (Venus Williams) for…
My Tennis Profile
These past few weeks, I think I’m experiencing my Second Renaissance… in Tennis. First Renaissance The First Renaissance happened when I was in Kagoshima… when I graduated from being a casual play-once-in-a-while player into a play-eight-hours-a-week tennis addict. That was when I got rid of my cheap-ass Daiei shoes and super-sale beginner’s racket to buy…
If Federer Beats Nadal to Win Roland Garros…
I believe it will surpass his 2001 Wimbledon victory over Pete Sampras as his career’s most cherished victory. During their 2001 encounter, neither Federer nor Sampras was at their prime. Federer hasn’t peaked yet while Sampras is past his peak. It was a mere transfer of power from one aging tennis great to a younger…
